The warning light on an XB9 is supposed to come on at .7 gallons left in the tank. Average of 45 mpg or so. You do the math. Or I will. With my numbers you should get 31 miles or so. You'll need to know about what your average mpg value is for your bike, the way you ride and any mods you have. I ride a XB9XS and made it 25 miles once.

Hope that helps.

i went 27 miles once, scared of running out after the first 20, don't know how far one can go till it runs dry though. when i pulled in the gas station, the force from just stopping made my bike start to sputter so i know i was REALLY LOW.

I consistently go 20-25 miles on the light, haven't run out yet. One of these days I'll bring along a small gas can and see how far it will go on the light.

I made it exactly 30 miles when the light was on and then she stopped.

28.8 miles before she started to sputter...this was on a Brag run with the boyz from Edison. Seth had to push me to the gas station with his bike @ 40mph :0

Funny you should ask : )

27.8 miles. On I-75 southbound in downtown Dayton (a nasty place to stall). At 1:15 this afternoon.

Pushed it 20 feet to where the exit ramp went downhill, and coasted into the BP : )

For future reference, if you can "slosh" the gas to the front, or get pointed downhill, you will get a *little* second wind of gasoline.

I think it may also help to lean to the left a bit when stopped.

Got 35 miles out of her before she quit. I wanted to get last years gas out anyway, and I lucked out & ran dry where I was able to easily push across the road to a gas station. What's weird though is that even after running her "dry" I couldn't fit 3.7 gallons of gas back in; only managed to refill with about 3.5 gallons.
