As of today I have about 520 miles on my 06' XB9SX. I have noticed these past few days that when I accelerate, then back off of the throttle, that there is a sort of whine that becomes very obvious. It seems to only happen in 2nd and 3rd gear. This does not happen when revving the engine when not in gear, only when riding. Is this something that I should be worried about? Any ideas? Also, when riding in first and second gears - when giving very light throttle - the bike is very jerky. Is that also normal, or possibly a primary chain type thing? Thanks!

Sounds normal to me, hd tranys make noise. My Buells make all sorts of racket. One buell tech told me "Start worrying when it stops sounding like a blender full of nickels". My buells have allways been jerky compared to my in-line 4 japs. Jerkiness you are having could just be your high torque to weight ratio and a responsive belt system (no slack like chains).

I love the cityx, enjoy it!
