I realise im going to incurr the wraith of all those who have read this topic b4 BUT..... Has anyone actually removed the belt-guards from their bikes? I know there is a risk of trapping debris but i think it looks much "cleaner" with them off. Just cant decide if its worth the risk?

Take them off at your own risk- it does look a lot better but one little rock in the sprocket will hole the belt or rip it, then you could be stranded and out 160 bucks for a new one, if anything try to keep the bottom covered or the back half by the sprocket protected.

Jet-hot offers silver, black, and "ford blue" IIRC.

That was something that came up recently when Jens posted pics of his new white lightning.

i would love to get my headers done in black. there are just too many things to do to the bike let alone riding it takes up most of the spare time

I took mine off and it looks so much better. Just don't ride in gravel and rocks and you'll be fine. =0P

Took mine off a year ago, no problems. Looks much cleaner and makes tire changes much easier.

oh yeah the original reason i posted here was to let you know that i also removed my guards last year. i have driven in every kind of weather and road conditions including loose gravel from road construction. i have had no problems, so i would go for it.

yes REMOVE your belt guards for looks(?) or leave them on for FUNCTION ? ihave experiecned small rock caused belt failure-- to me it,s not worth the risk, but check out all the compromises the chopper riders(?) deal with !

just bought the bike...
haven't had a chance to ride it well, don't like the sound of the stock muffler, it's like ridin' a scooter.

these are well worn in though...

Robino, is that an "S" or an "S low" for the last picture? I'm debating on whether or not to put the Penske (spelling?) rear shock on for street riding as its got fully adjustable height and I'd have to see how low it would get anyways or to do the Scg shock on my SS. I love the extended swingarm and the little more length mine has over the S & Scg but want it to be a little lower cuz I love the low look on any bike.

it's from tapeworks.com
color is simply ... orange.
white lettering was already on the tires when i got the bike, i haven't rode it so i don't know how long it'll last.

i do know that Harley does sell the lettering paint in different colors.

Not really, now these are worn in.

You need to come up to where the real curves are, not where the only turns are to another street, or into your driveway!
Worn in!
