took a 2 hour drive each way to pick it up from the dealer, but its finally arrived!!

2006 CityX, Hero Blue, low seat, w/ the Buell 'sport' saddlebags, seatbag, and tankbag. Did 160km on it yesterday doing the initial break in, and scrubbing off the tires - this thing ROCKS for twisties, and hills in my area. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a couple of decent ones.

LOL - anytime I stopped, and took off my helmet, 'someone' would come over and ask me about it! - who was it on here that posted if you dont want to make friends, dont ride a buell ?!?!

Well done mate, good choice. When we go 2 my local bike meet i can actually FEEL the hurt my mates go through when people gather around my City X, thats the reason i bought it. I went to the coast with my girlfreind and saw a strange looking bike, after some research i discovered the XB series! A few months later i bought one.For the first time now i actually enjoy just being on the road on my bike. I dont feel the pressure to go balistic as b4.

thanks all:

reports to date - couple of misfires / spits doing on/off/on throttle roll off's in corners, but no issues other than that. Seems to be doing it less, and less as I add miles to the bike. Fan cycles quite a bit, but has never stayed on for more than 45-60 seconds after I shut off the bike. Again, seems to be trailing off, plus it was a hotter day today.

just passed 200km mark, and topped up for the first time: averaged 4.7L /100km = ~48mpg US - not bad for city 'type' driving and breaking it in.

had the nose get a wee bit light once already, and managed a supermoto style sideslip in a parking lot when I hit some sand / dirt - been a few years since I rode, but apparently the muscle memory's working fine, and both incidents were lively, but un-eventful(read, surprised the *** out of myself, but the bike is so stable neither resulted in a problem)

All the items you mention in your report are identical to what I had with my XB9SL when I bought it. I changed to synthetic oil and just kept riding it and it has NEVER let me down. Glad to hear the sideslip didn't go badly. Gotta love those 'unintentional' wheelies. : D

Paulson - didnt actually 'wheelie', just came up on the suspension. new gloves, new bike..nuff said.

went out into the local canyon areas tonight - way too fun. 330km on it now, still nothing more than fan noise, and the occasional spit. started experimenting with corners a bit, and the chicken strips are almost gone got some photos at http://www3.telus.net/ulendo/images if anyone wants a peek at what sort of riding I get.
