I want to paint the top side of the lower part of the inner airbox to get more light action through the CityX outer cover. Would there be any negative issues for the intake if I were to do so? I've read that certain adhesives are bad to use in the intake tract/area. I believe it effects the air temp sensor. Would spray can paints act similarly? Does anyone know what those bad adhesives are? | ||

Madsx, those adhesives are any sealant meant to be used as a gasket sealer. When heated they release fumes that can damage the O2 sensor once being sucked through. When I managed at Autozone, that was a routine question we had to ask customers buying the sealants. I don't believe that you would harm anything by painting your inner box. What color, chrome or white or ? I used chrome paint when I used the Kandy Blue for my frame. I bet that would really light up the Blue Box. It is not reflective like a factory bumper, but it will reflect plenty of light! | ||

I was going to stick with the theme and use the silver frame paint. I did wrap the whole lower plate in a few layers of heavy duty tin foil to see what it looked like. Kind of poor mans heat shield. Havent made up my mind if I like it yet though. |
