what's the point of the hole in the chin spoiler; on the left hand side??
anyone know??

ps - recommendations for somewhere i can get a heat shield... am slowly cooking my right hand thigh, it's a bit crispy already

Serves the same function as carbon-fiber heel guards - but doesn't cost you an extra $100 bucks. : D

On the factory and aftermarket racebike bellypans, that hole isn't there.

I put a heat shield on, it gets near as hot as the pipe because of the solid aluminum connection to the pipe. I added pipe wrap between the shield and pipe, it seems to help a little. At least you shouldn't catch your pants on fire if you touch it.

Wrap your headers and you will most of the heat.I have mine wrapped and my fan runs about half as much as the guy's I ride with that aren't wrapped. About $35 bucks for the wrap and I used good SS clamps...Charlie
