My apologies to the original poster if you were an innocent, but there is some circumstantial evidence (not conclusive) that you may be an individual who we have grown weary of, and who's motives are questionable. We have had our fill of snake oil and your petty tantrums, thanks very much.

If you want to know what is in an special ops pipe, or a drummer, buy one and cut it up.

If you want to post the internals for a good modified pipe, go design, test, and refine one and publish it here. I for one would *love* to see it and make one. I just got a welder, and would *love* to be running a pipe I built.

But please don't take somebody elses hard spent development work and give it away without their permission. Thanks for understanding.

hmm, the original post vanished. dont even tell me someone spent money and time to cut up both cans then posted internal shots. how ridiculous can you get.

why can't people just buy what they like, try it and move on if it doesnt work for them? doesnt seem hard to me. there is no end-all solution for anything. plus/minus to everything. be happy we have choices!

besides, there are plenty of charts available to see what kind of power the various pipes deliver and where... i could be running the best pipe in the world and i guarantee you i'll still want to try other fun-trick-noisemakers for the hell of it. thats the beauty in modding your ride. it never ends ;)

those guys work hard to get us choices, support 'em with your cash or give 'em a break and look elsewhere for your magic pipe.

Kevin and Odie... thanks for the hard work, guys. its appreciated!

Wow! I think I can figure out what happened. I found that image (as part of a pdf) at the Aussie Buell forum. There's plenty of evidence both there and here of a feud between the two sites, but I had no idea I was getting into it!

I have posted here before, hopefully establishing who I am.

I live in Sydney, Australia and the tyranny of distance makes it difficult to send my muffler to Odie or Kevin without putting my bike off the road for weeks. I am (make that was) looking for another solution.

I hope that I am still welcome here?

I can vouch for the Clinkster......
I know who he is, & that he is not who he was mistaken for.
I think posting that image was an innocent mistake on his part.
Klinkster, you may want to investigate what I`m currently trying to organize & that is purchase a used Exhaust in the US either off Ebay or from other BadWeb members then getting them to deliver it to the exhaust modder of your choice then having it delivered to you in Australia. That way your only up for 1 way international delivery costs & no downtime on your bike............worth a thought ?

Cheers

Murdoch

Welcome Klink. No foul... we welcome your participation. Y'all figured out the issue exactly, thanks for understanding. Thanks for the clarification Murdoch.

The tactics have stooped to pretty low levels, so we have to be a bit aggressive.

I know EU and Australia can have some pretty brutal taxes on imports... I wonder if Kevin would "license" the design to some local fabricators in each nation?

Heck, I now have an oxy-acetalyne cutting and welding rig, and would love a project. I wonder if Kevin would sell a "drummer kit" for self assembly? The plans, plumbing, and billet endcaps? That would be *really* cool.

Kevin... bring out the "drummer kit"!

Oh... and just for the record, we have *no* idea what is in a drummer... or if that original graphic was right or not.

I understand very well how Kevin and Odie feel about their product and thank all the BWr's who also understand. ... Al and I are some what in the same boat. ... It takes from five hours to two days to get a DL map right on for any given exhaust. ... Sending someone just the MAP in an e-mail does not help us recover our development cost. ... Like those two guys we feel that our pricing is fair and is affordable by all. ...

The next step in what we plan to do is to develop the MAPs for four different Rev Perf Engine Kits. ... A 1250cc bolt on big bore with stock heads, a 1250 with heads and cams, a 1208cc Ultra Short Stroke XB9 engine and the 90 inch XB12 with heads cams and big TB. ... Brian will sell the re-programed ECM as part of the kit. ... We are starting on the 90 inch project today. ... Terry Parsley GM Vallejo Performance Services

PS. ... I just signed back on, after thinking I might have stolen this thread, that was not my intent, Kevin and Odie have worked hard and deserve all the support you guys give them. ... Thanks Terry

Thanks guys. Just to be clear, think of me as Switzerland - not so much the chocolate and the cuckoo clocks, more the determined neutrality. I wasn't a member of either forum when all this history was taking place, and I don't want a seat at the table.

Murdoch, thanks for your ideas. I'm trying to work something like that out.

Reepicheep, it'd be great if someone wanted to license Odie or Kevin's products over here. However, from memory, Buell only sells 8o-something bikes in Australia each year, so there probably isn't the installed base to support such a business.

All the best, Klink

PS. I found this site while surfing. I think it's kinda cool, although they don't have a poster specifically for flame wars.

Klinkster,

I`d be interested to know the exact numbers but I`m guessing your number is way low ? I`m only going by our local dealer (who is in a regional area & not capital city or anything) as they seem to be selling Buells like hotcakes. Seems each time I go in they have a new bike or 2 on the floor & the stock keeps turning over. I can only guess what other dealers turn over is like.............but yeah the local one really pushes & backs Buells which is great to see.

Cheers

Murdoch
