So I'm putting pucks on my recently acquired used 04 12S. Hmmmmm. Doesn't look right. Aha! Box says these are for an 06 model. Instructions in the box list a different part number for the 03-05 models.

Talk to the parts man. Parts man talks to boss. They insist the pucks are no different from model year to model year, as the frame is no different. They just don't line up right or look right to me. I've never been a fan of doing anything half-a$$ed.

I think the answer is obvious, but I'll ask anyway. Am I being Buellschitted? Darn shame if I am, as I really wanted this dealer to work out.

The only frames that are different are the Ss and the Uly from the rest of the XB line.
The different part numbers are because the first set of pucks had a different attachment method...the glue pad on the back is different.

I reserve the right to be wrong, as you will see, if I am wrong I will be corrected in short order.

How do you mean they don't fit right?
If they don't fit flush, get them warm, like with a hair dryer, they will conform when soft.

Good luck!

Well... They probably just don't know is all.

It is pretty hit or miss to find a good Buell dealer. The sponsors of this sight are great but I'm sure you can find a local place if you need one.

What's the part number you have? I'm sure someone can tell you if it's the right one.

I don't have the P/N, but from eyeballing it I'm sure they are the 93004-05Y pucks for the Ss.

It's amazing that adhesive can keep those things on.

Question answered. Thanks to all!

My parts guy thought there was only one version and we ordered it from the 06 City-X parts book, but I got the info here that my '04 XB12R needed 93001-03YA and changed my order, and they fit perfectly.

There is no difference in the pucks for a CityX and a Firebolt.

The pucks for XB9R, XB12R, XB9S, XB12S and XB9SX are all the same. Part # 93001-03YA (old part number and price is still listed on the Buell website)

The pucks for XB12X and XB12Ss are the same. Part #93004-05Y

All regardless of year of the bike.

The Buell website should be changed, the nameing is a bit confusing. It says "Frame Pucks for '06 XB Models" when they really only fit the Uly and Lightning Long. But if you read the discriptions and the fitment they are correct.

I'm shocked
Craig, maybe you could put in for the job of keeping their webpage updated. It would take you, what 3 hours per month?
