So I went n bought a new battery 2 days ago.
Was tired of holding my breath every time I went to start it up wondering if I was gonna hear that awful grind/clicking sound.
Worked fine for 2 days fired up first try every time.
Today I go to start it for work n what do I hear but that awful grinding.
So I'm just guessing that SOMETHING is shorted or melted somewhere and this is more than likely the same short/melt that has blown 200$ worth of headlights.
Any ideas were to start looking?

Check the output of the charging system. Could be what is failing. Also, check the ground. Sometimes high resistance to ground can cause a problem.

Always charge a new battery before using !!!

Always keep your battery on a trickle charger when not riding if possible !!!

Always change you battery every two years ... "BUT" if you feel that this is too expensive, just waite untill you have to take it the Dealer to have you electrical system repaired ???

Here is another bullet for the list I have learned from hard personal experience...

Always make sure you understand what's broke before you fix anything!

Did you check the output of your stator when the bike is running? Or it's resistance when the bike is not running? Those are easy tests.

What you describe is about what I would expect if somebody had a blown stator, but threw in a newly recharged battery.

It's not impossible that a failing stator could also create voltage spikes (stators being highly inductive loads).

Still waiting on my buddy with the multimeter to do the stator and regulator tests.
Could either of those being blown cause my headlights to blow?
As it stands right now I get no power to one side of my headlights and the other side blows after a few rides.

That sounds like a bad ground... If your stator is shot, it usually results in low charge voltage. It's an easy test though -- no meter needed... Like I said before, pull the primary inspection cover and smell... Burned popcorn = burned stator...
