Some of you have serious personal issues if you get bent over someone mispronouncing or misspelling your name. The world is coming unhinged and you're worried about the spelling of names. I would find it difficult to believe that Mr. Buell loses sleep or waste's energy worrying about some nimrod misspelling his name.

I am sure it annoys him. I hate when my name is mispronounced. My last name is Frus, fr-usss you say? No, Fr-ooss. my dad's name is Alan, most people spell it Allen, annoying?

I cringe when somebody confuses Yeah, with yay, or yay, with Yeah. I also cringe when somebody says, Wal-Marts, or WORKMAN's Comp, or I half to go to the mall instead of, I HAVE to... call me a goofus, whatever, I get annoyed by certain things. : D

Cochise - I agree with you. My biggest pet peeve is when people misuse the word "I". It is sometimes correct to say "me" and not "I". It amazes me that this rule is often misused on television shows or movies where people are paid big $$$ to be writers. And I agree, Wal-Marts annoys me too!

My full name is NEVER pronounced correctly. When they stumble at the doctor's office, I figure it's me they are looking for.

Respect for one's name goes along way. Whether it bothers anyone else or not, it bothers me and I don't have to justify that to anyone.

Exup, I don't think the whole Badweb thing is going downhill, this site keeps kicking my club's site's butt in the post count department, and gaining more every day.

Frus? No, it's Bohemian.

"I'm a Frus, I'm a Frus, can you do the fandango?"

If you weren't typing to me, carry on.

Try pronouncing Lucchesi

It's mispronounced 99% of the time but I take it with a grain of salt because it's an unfamiliar name to most people. I don't get offended.

When I first came here I slipped up a few times & used a c instead of a k for Erik's name. It wasn't out of disrespect but because I was unfamiliar with that spelling of the name.

I got it down pat now but I remember receiving some pretty harsh words back then. Some of it shouldn't be repeated on a family geared website. I thought it was wee bit much for an innocent mistake.

It takes some people longer than others to unlearn something like the spelling of a name so that they can re learn it the intended way.

I wish I could remember the BadWeb member's name who came to my defense. I'm pretty sure I thanked her but if I didn't; "Thank you" : )

My name gets misspelled about 50% of the time. I get 'Erin' though instead of Aaron. Now that's something to get one pissed. Erin is a girls name. Ya might as well turn me into a gelding or a steer.

Aaron, Arron, Erin, Eron, Ehrohn, Air-in

I wonder how many folks here think that Blake is my last name? You can call me "Rudy", or you can call me "Blake", but don't call me "Rudy Blake." : D

Of course some folks call me other things, but that is a whole other thread. joker

For those wondering, Dave's last name is pronounced like "Stevie" as in "Stevie Ray Vaughn." : )

I can't think of a time when someone spelled my last name right.
I automatically say Dave H-A-R-E whenever someone is writing down my name.
Hell half my certifications are spelled David Hair.

Try sitting next to someone (we're on the phones all day) who butchers the english language? "I seen a..." drives me nuts and she doesn't have a single word in her vocabulary that ends in ING. It all ends with IN. The sad part is that half of her e-mails are even typed that way!

Well... Jeff Dixon is racing my bike for Bartels the rest of the season. His nickname is "Slipp"

You should hear "Slipp Dixon" "Lavin-Yurassov Racing" over the PA system at Willow Springs.

I'm happy if someone can spell my first name right let alone my last. I can spell it out loud and most will mispell it. I also get alot of duplicate junk mail with alsort on name spellings. When I was in school a teacher had to call my parents to check if I was spelling my name right. After awhile it does't bother anymore.
