I just bought a Steel Horse swingarm stand and dadgummit, it's too narrow to take my 14 5/16" XB swingarm! What universal stand have you found that's wide enough, doesn't take too much effort and holds the bike up securely? I really don't want to add spools. Thanks in advance! | ||

Pit bull makes one, but you need to specify the wide model. The standard is too narrow. I also had a t-rex rear stand that fit. Vortex also makes one that fits. I think the Lockhart Phillips universal will fit, but I could be wrong. | ||

Have another Q, what I want to do is cheap out and only buy a swingarm stand. Is it possible to use a swingarm stand without having a second person to hold the bike vertical? Or do I need to get some kind of chock device or steering head stand to get it upright before lifting the rear? | ||

Yes, the Lockhart Phillips universal rear stand will work on the XB. That's what I've got. | ||

It can be tricky to do, but guys put their own bikes on a race stand at every trackday and race. It might help to have someone on stand-by until you get the hang of it. | ||

I use a Handy Industries, but I had to modify it (like everything else I own!  ) Had to heat it up and spread it apart enough to get the width right, works like a charm! | ||

i find it easy to get it on the rear stand by myself...only takes a few seconds. if you only have a rear stand tho, your problem comes (obviously) when you need to do something to the front end... | ||

His profile says he has a XB and the ad says it'll go 15 inches wide (my swingarm measures 14 5/16" widest). But thinking maybe a Pit Bull forward arm rear stand might be the way to go (being able to hold the left grip while lifting the bike). | ||

pitbull is the best one out there.IMO. my neighbor has one i have used. it is schweeet! when i get some more funds i will be getting one from daveS. | ||

Pitbull makes the very best. Vortex is the second best. LP is ok, but just isn't the same quality. | ||

I have T-rex's front and rear that I got off Ebay for dirt cheap. Got both for less than 1 pitbull and they are just as good (had pitbulls before). | ||

I bought a pair of the t-rex stands as well. the front stand bent at the track the first time out because we were not on smooth pavement. The rear stand is fine, but I worry about the quality of the tubing they used. I have used pitbulls for years and have never had one bend, no matter where I used them. SO I would not call them of equal quality. | ||

Didn't have anything like that happen to me, but I only use them in the garage on a flat floor. I do find them pretty beefy though compared to the other off brands. |
