I posted the same question in the knowledge vault, no response.

Whats the difference between the 03 9R and the 04 9R seats?? Corbin says there isnt really a way to get their "04" seat to properly fit an 03.

That's funny, they re-named the seats to be 04+.

The problem has to do with the routing of the positive cable on the bike.
This has come to light fairly recently and they are supposed to be working
on alternate mounts that will get rid of the problem. Guess they figured
they'd run off any business that came their way in the mean time.

FWIW Every 03 'bolt out there with a corbin, including mine that have
a corbin have that seat.

bull pucky......I have an '03 and the Corbin seat fits it perfectly.....aside from their issue with the mounting bar cutting across the battery, but it appears they have a new mounting setup. Unless something has changed with that setup, there should be no reason.

Word from Corbin Customer service is they dont have anything to ensure fitment on the 03'... for those that do have the seat, how did you overcome the battery issue? I want to get one, and make it fit!

I got mine from Al at American Sport Bike.
Al has his made a little different from the base model corbin, and does his own quality control.
Mine is Carbon fiber pattern and all black.

It fit just fine. While it does touch the battery cable it has not become an issue.
Al has been in contact and is working with corbin to get alternate mounts made. When
they become available Al will ship the new mount(s) out. Al rejected their first attempt.
It just wasn't up to the standards he felt his customers deserve.

That's service after the sale, and a very good reason to buy from Al!

It will fit no doubt about it. you may need to add additional shrink tubing to the
battery cables in the mean time, and check it occasionally but it isn't that big of a
deal if you know about it and take precautions.

I do not know if Al is still selling the 'bolt corbin seats until they get this resolved
give him a call. He has the real answers.

Just remove the stock seat and pitch it, get on the bike and ride. You'll think you're riding ON the Corbin.

I've heard that from a few people Al, but that hasn't been my experience. I've found
the super-soft cruiser seats to cause me more discomfort than the firmer corbin-esque
seats.

I've had corbin seats on a couple of bikes now and they've been upgrades, to my taste
anyway. (but I've been told my taste was...well, you get the idea)

I'm interested in why you find the corbin uncomfortable. is it too firm? too wide
feeling? Or is it something else. Also what do you weigh, what's you height and
what kind of riding do you do? miles:day, or hours:day in the saddle.

Thanks
