picked up bike the other day (03'xb9s), got the jardine pipe on race ecm in mapped and tps reset...(still waitin on open airbox kit n k&N to complete everything)...so i take off runs decent lagging around 3500-4krpms and sputtering around 4500 breifly...hit the twisties and start opening it up, my check engin light comes on and all a sudden it was an animal, unbelievable power and no lags anyware,, when i let up for a 1/4 mile or so light goes off and back to stock power with lags, went to the local shop where i got the work done adn they said it was becuase i needed to run it on the highway at 3,000rpms for 8-10 miles to clear it out. Anyone have this happen? the shop doesnt have a dyno either which makes me sad so im worried things arnt right, even tho they are highly trained and build choppers and highly recomended. Im hoping the k&N makes that difference that im looking for like when the light was on, need some feedback plz

how long did you run it at 3500 rpm?
this is what sets the computer's afv to match your new set up.

You said you have the race ecm mapped. Is this something the dealer told you? Without software and a dyno you cannot remap the ecm.
You may be having trouble with a fouled plug, or a bad o2 sensor. That'd be my guess
