i was swapping out my bulbs this weekend and i noticed an extra bulb socket in the center of the housing. It doesnt have bulb in it and i looked at the service manual and it doesnt say anything in there about it. Whats the story. does anybody what this is???? | ||

running light. europeans call it a position lamp.. takes a 194 automotive bulb, illuminates at either run or park key position. | ||

I put a bulb in mine. it only comes on when the key is ON and only the low beam is on. That is the only time for me. | ||

Is this on the R or the S? Hi or Lo beam side? I don't see the socket on the housing on my R. Where exactly is it? | ||

I have a bulb in that middle socket as well. It's a European position lamp as the previous Bueller said. I think it's a #194, but you may want to confirm that. It comes on when the bike is 'on' and also when position parked (dash illuminated, brake light illuminated and the park position lamp on, but the fork locked). I'm not sure where it would be on the R. Mine is a 12Scg | ||
