Anyone know if there is an advantage to having dual headlights other than looking cooler than single ones? : )

just the inherent safety of redundancy - a built in back-up. I don't know about your specific bike but on the Uly its the same lamp used for hi and low - just different angle and maybe a different lens.

as for the "coolness" - I like two lights but I think the Buell set-up actually loses cool points - it always looks like one lamp is burned out

i think i read somewhere that cars see one headlight and recognize a motorcycle, two lights looks like a car way down the road.that could suck but personally i dont think cars ever see me anyways.a-holes are always pullin out or turning in front of me.

Always assume that they don't see you, even when you're driving your car.

I have become convinced my bikes have cloaking devices that hide them from non-riders.

Regardless of the headlight configuration.

One is good, but ours have two, so they're better. Even if one is always off.

Actually, the dual headlight set up was originally designed as a chick magnet.

Works like this.
You are posing at the Rock Store in your Icon Streetfighter get up with skull and crossbones dew rag. Your ignition is on, ready to go like, and some slinky chick ambles up and says:

" Dude, one of your headlights is out!"

You promptly get into it with her, pretty soon you are talking Zero Torsion Front Brake rotor and fuel-in-frame stuff, when she says:

" Your Place or Mine?"

(Thanks to Anonymous for straightening me out on this.)

PS:
Go to her place.

You don't want that kind of skank seen around your crib, know what I mean?
