I can't find anything for the life of me to put in place of the stock mirrors. I was told to look for mirror plugs but my local dealer didn't know what the hell I was talking about and said that Buell didn't make anything and it'd be aftermarket and whatnot. I just want the plastic caps I've seen people have that just "plug" into where the mirrors screwed into. I was going to use shortened bolts that were black but after seeing these on a local bike they're so much cleaner. Anybody have a part number or somewhere I can get em' for a buck or 2 a piece? The thread is 10mm but they do sell plugs, They are in the Firebolt's part book in the master cyl page and the clutch perch page... | ||

We include them with any bar end mirrors that we sell. Got a gadjillion of them at the store. They're only like a quarter a piece but shipping them would cost more than the plugs. I'll throw them in for free with any order if there's anything else you need. Al | ||

I used the plastic stock plugs for the Firebolt, i got the pair for like 67 cents and they were actually in stock at the HD dealership too. | ||

P.S. make sure you trim the left side or it will not fit. | ||

I got some plastic plugs used in automotive body parts at Lowes. I got ones with oversized heads, they make a handy place to hook a bungee cord, to secure small packages. | ||

The bolts for my 05 XB9SX was a 10mm 1.25 pitch. Home Depot had them, but only in zinc, not black hex head or stainless. I used them to mount a GPS rig. A $335 plug  You can get them from the dealer, but the firebolt only has one for the right (as I recall) hand bar, you need two "rights", not a right and a left. They are in the parts catalog. That caused some head scratching between me and the parts guy until we figured it out. | ||

Just get plastic trim plugs from your local auto parts store. They are used to fasten automotive interior panels against the bodywork. The 'spiny' leg on the plug grips firmly in the threaded hole. You may have to just trim the length to suit. Easy & Cheap. | ||

Adam, Iused the plastic plugs in the mirror holes on my XB9S. They are black plastic with a smooth, thin, rounded cap. They fill the hole with a finished look, I think, better than a bolt. | ||

Thanks Bob. =0) I work at the VW dealership and we have the plastic pieces of a bunch of different sizes like the others posted so once it gets nice out and I ride my bike to work I'll try them all out to see if any of them work and if so voila! If not then if you could get em' that'd rock! I'm at 390 miles now so I'm almost broken in! |
