got my parts today. tore into them like a kid at christmas. pretty straight forward deal a little re routing of the wiring i still need to change the clutch and throttle cables. but i mocked it up and it looks damn mean.
found a snag right away though the ignition swicth will not work! it has to be from a bolt. the lightning switch is too long. and the pigtail from the bolt headlights needs to be switched too.but other than that pretty simple its all wired fired it up everything works properly..i still need to paint the fairing but that just might have to wait for awhile,
i could have done the whole job in i would say about 4 or 5 hrs, without the paint and what else i did that took up a bit of my time.
i decided to hack my muffler and holy sh@t does it sound mean! so not only now does it look mean it sounds bad @ss.
whole new bike for just a little labor and a few bucks.

I will be doing the same thing this weekend. Jeff (Cryptic1911) sent me his parts, subframe, plastics, wiring harness, basicaly everything. I will be swapping everything out this weekend. I am pumped, the wife is pissed, but oh well.

I've been tempted for a while now. I've had my XB9S for 3 yrs now and I'm ready for a change. It's either that or get a new bike. I think my wife would be more pissed with the latter!

Oh yeah...while window shopping on cycletrader I came across an interesting conversion. How's about an SV650 to Firebolt conversion?

Did you go with the stock Firebolt bars or with helibars or some other aftermarket bars?

stock bars elff other than i had to order a new ignition switch all was smooth pretty simple deal. sure beats the price of a new bike and looks damn mean. still need to paint the fairing but thats gonna have to wait. all i have to do is install the new clutch cable and twistie tie the wires up,and the new switch. at a standstill it feels great with the riding position i'll get a better idea on the road but i had a bolt for a few days(long story) and i know how it feels. cant friggin wait.

Is there any way you could give me a figure on what you spent on the whole conversion. Maybe a part list, I'm going to do it this winter! I'd like to see those pics when its done

cmm the part list is
fairing bracket
fairing
windscreen
mirrors
headlight assembly
triple tree
bars
clutch cable
throttle cables
well nuts for wind screen
bolts for windscreen
this is from daves list.
what we missed....ignition switch a must
spacers for headlamp assembly..(made my own)
ok problems i encountered.
1----ignition switch
2----spacers on the headlights
3----pigtail on the r lamps needs to be cut and changed to the s pigtail.
just minor stuff total price was 674.00 plus shipping about 50.00 that doesn't include the ignition switch was about another 50.00. hope this helps.

okay I know. Im retarded. but I like the R front and the R tail...so to make an R more S like as far as the riding position goes maybe just a more comfy seat, S pegs and heli bars. What else gives the S the dirt biker siting up position I crave?

took my first ride on the r/s and i'll have to say it's a huge difference. if you want to ride agressive its the way to go.i imagine you could just throw on some crossroads and be done, but i really like the fairing on the r,and the tail of the s.imho i feel i have made the perfect bike for me and it was worth every cent.

To get your Frame and rear swingarm painted,
What did you have to take off the bike?
