I checked the knowledge vault and the info was a bit dated on Chatterbox etc. what are the current best choices out there?

Chatterbox is garbage. Go with the Collett Communicators.

If you both have the same mobile carrier, you can talk all day for free.

did some research and reading. ordered the Collett. will post back after our first install and ride. it hooks up to the cell phone and mp3 so you can take advantage of all forms of noise

Well, bought 4 headsets and installed them in about 10 minutes. went for several rides at several speeds with several type helmets. I have a special ops pipe on my bike and it is still clear at 70mph. I have a closed helmet. talked on the cell phone for 30 minutes the other day while on the free way and the person on the other end said he could not tell that i was on my bike. he did say that i sounded a bit like i was in a can (helmet could be a can) my wife has an open face helmet and hers gets a little noisy at around 60 mph. they are amazingly useful when riding together. last minute route changes etc. have to say that the voice activated works just great and there is only some interference from truckers keying their cb mics from time to time if you are close. other than that, they work great. my son says that the helmet speakers are a bit tweaterish for listening to his MP3's while he is riding. so, good price point and easy installation so far so good.
