I want to get a set of junkyard levers for my XB, and "operate" on them.

Does anyoneone know what other bikes use the same levers?

Thanks

1. Yes, interchangeability is a word.
Nice word, if you ask me.

2. As far as brake lever interchangeability is concerned, life if just a bit more complicated.

The Buell XB levers are made by Nissin, who make the brake and clutch levers for just about every Japenese bike, so these levers are plentiful.

The snag is, as reported previously on this board, but not tested by me, is that there appear to be some very small detail changes from model to model so that levers that appear to be identical, really are not, and can cause some problems in use. It has also been reported that the levers can be made to work with some careful hand fitting.

Perhaps someone with hands on experience can comment further.

You beat me too it, Jon. Not about the levers... about interchangeability being a word.

I don't have a clue about levers.

Gentleman Jon has it correct, you need to be very careful with the brake levers.

The others will bolt in and they do look the same but there are very slight machining changes. It can result in “self energizing” brakes that unintentionally turn them selves on, or stay on after you release the lever if you get it wrong.

Not worth the risk if you ask me.
