I just got my motor back from revperf and got it installed tonight. I had to install a Dobeck TFI and a new ecm. Here is the problem ... the bike starts and idles fine, but the check engine light comes on after idleing for a few seconds and any throttle input causes the bike to stall. Could this be the TPS I have read about on the board. I did not reset anything. How would I reset it? Thanks

Sounds like you need the TPS reset. When I changed to a Race ECM, my bike would start and idle but any throttle input would result in it cutting out right away.

If you changed to an ECM that has never been on that bike before then the TPS needs to be reset right away.

TPS resets can be done at a dealer (although I have had a few do it wrong) or you can do what I did and got the VDSTS package from American Sport Bike which works with a laptop so you can do it at home. They have also been working on a package for remapping the ECMs which you may want to find out about as they have been building and testing maps for specific setups (i.e. Race ECM and Drummer or Race ECM and Jardine, etc.).

To bad your not here in Houston TX. I would tell you to come on over and we could see if a TPS reset would solve your headaches.

Thanks for the offer. I called the local stealer, um, dealer and they said no, problem bring it in a week from next monday and $115.00 for 1.5 hours and they will take care of it. I don't have a laptop so the item from american sportbike doesn't sound like it will work. My buddy has a Screaming Eagle Scanalizer. Does anyone know if it can be done with that? Help....
