Update:
Well, today I received a phone call The Harley/Buell dealer about my on going problem with my 06XB12Ss. As some of you might recall it started running bad about 2 weeks ago. It was giving a code 13 which is a bad 02 sensor. They said that they needed to order one and it would take about a week to get. OK, so in the mean time I had the header pipe Hot Jet coated, that was cool. Anyway they put it back together yesterday and guess what its doing the same thing. Now they think it is the ECM causing this problem. Now they have to order a ecm to see if that will fix the problem, and to top this off it will take a week to get another ecm. MY GOD, this is driving me crazy!

That stinks. Every now and then you just get a freak vehicle that doesn't like its' electronics. I have an 06 Ss myself and I am paying that I don't have problems like that.

The Service manager should talk to the Sales manager and borrow (if you will) an ECM from a new bike to verify the problem/repair. Quick, easy, and real good for customer relations.
What happens next week when the new ECM comes in and doesn't fix it

Its all under warranty. Thank god. I don't have to order ecm the dealer does. I also asked them today if they could take one from another XB12 bike and they said that they can not do that because if there is a short in the system that it could possible short that one as well. Also that ecm is tied to that bike some how, Well I think thats BS. They say that is not how Buell wants them to tackle this problem. They also said that the call Buell tech line for advice to this problem, they now are going to try to get the part overnight-ed or next day mail. We will see. I also have a race ecm on the way and I don't want to use that if there is a true problem with the bike. Still this makes me very frustrated.

One more thing that I noticed, since they have the bike apart, I started looking a things and noticed that the idle\tps cable is rubbing on the head bracket and it already has rubbed thru the outer plastic jacket. I told the service tech about it and he say that they all do that! I asked them to fix that too. It should not do that. Anyway do you guys think I'm being to picky.

Nope, you are not being too picky. This is supposed to be a NEW bike.

Just think of the consequences of not replacing an item like that. It's your safety, you tell them it's to get fixed and see if you can come up with a fix or let them figure out the problem so it stops rubbing.

OK here we go again. The dealer called me up around 430 and said that they had the problem fixed but they close at 600. Well I rushed home and drove over to the dealer across town. Was pretty excited to get my bike back. Well they explained to me that it was a bad ecm. Also they put another 38 miles on the bike after they put the ecm on. Also they said that they detailed the bike for me. Well service manager took me back to my bike and the first thing I noticed is that the bike was dirty sand on the seat and the wheels are dirty. OK at this point I didn't care because I just wanted my bike back. So I rolled it out side and looked it over real hard, everything looked OK. So I started it up and let it idle right in front of the service manager and guess what it did it again. I think his jaw drop to the ground. I don't believe this, so far I think its been at the dealers almost as long as I have had it. I'm really getting tried of this. I have only put 279 miles on this bike. When I picked it up it had 17 miles on it. So 279-17=262, 262 miles is all I have put on it since I bought it. That's since the last of February. OK enough bitching, I hope they can find this problem. This is getting ridiculous! I really like these bikes but man give me a brake. I don't want a bike that has been taken apart and put back together within begin less than 2 months old. This sucks. All I want to do is enjoy my bike.

Lemon Law applies perfectly here.

You might want to contact an attorney and find out how the lemon law applies in this situation. Governor Arnold stands behind the hard working citizen who drop down big money on vehicles only to have them not function properly. Especially after a reasonable amount of attempts to correct the problem.

Hey Bigbuell-

Like I mentioned in your other thread CALL Buell Customer Service: 1-414-343-8400 (John, Renee, et al.)

Also Look in the "For The Factory" thread. Court has his email address in there.

Thanks for that info. I will use that if I don't get any results soon. They are working on this problem. Dealer is keeping in touch with me. If you like I started a new thread on the subject called, Help and Advice (long thread). Again if this does not work that is the direction I'm heading next.

The lemon law will eventually apply, but there must be several attempts, as stated above. I had a friend who bought a used car once, it was only about 4 years old. The car stopped running right about 3 weeks after he bought it and it was under dealer warranty. They made about 4 attempts to fix the problem and even then they refused to buy the car back. He took them to court and won easily.

Not sure if that info helps, but just an example of the lemon law that was used correctly and was successful.
