After an outrageous amount that allstate wanted from me to insure my Buell I just had to laugh. I mean don't get me wrong, my autos and home insurance is w/ allstate, but man... the Buell insurance was really sick!!

Just for liability they wanted 648.00 a year.

This did not cover my bike at all or if it was to get stolen.

Now I got a quote w/ Geico.
I have to following:

(BI) bodily injury 100/300
(PD) propery damage 20/40
Medical payments 50K
uninsured motoris (BI) 20/40
uninsured motorist property 15K
Comprehensive (theft ect) 500 deductable

I got all that for only $493.00 a year.

I could of knocked out the comprehensive and that would of came down to 317.00 a year. but hell better safe then sorry for all the theifs these days.

So how about you all. What you pay and whom are you with?

25, no recent tickets, no at-fault accidents, never even filed a claim, paying $1050/yr for full coverage with the highest deductible available from Viking/Peak property. This is my 3rd year insuring the bike, for the first two years I was with another company paying $1100/yr until they decided to no longer cover motorcycles. The next lowest quote I found was $1900/yr. Progressive wanted $3600/year, probably to pay for their stupid "we know motorcycles" commercials.

$392/yr full coverage on 2 bikes (05XB12S and 98 Suzuki Marauder) via Dairyland. Much better then the $2700/yr that my last insurance company wanted for just the XB. That is with Brag Discount, MSF course, Winter Discount, and multibike discount.

State Farm, $145.00 for total coverage for 6 months. But, I'm an old fart (55 years-old), with a good driving record in Florida!

Up here in good old British Columbia, the crooked government insurance corp. ICBC gives me the fantastic deal of just under $200 per month.

This is with the max 43% discount for flawless driving records.

2004 XB12R, Hampton Roads (AKA Tidewater) area of Virginia. State Farm only insures me because I already have my car and wife's minivan with them, no motorcycle coverage for those who aren't already auto policy holders:

Total 444.68/year, c/o:

98.13 Liability, 100K/person, 300K/occurrence, 50K/property.
103.67 Comprehensive, 100.00 deductible.
193.73 Collision, 250.00 deductible.
49.15 Uninsured Motorists, same coverage as liability.

Works for me.

I'm angry! : [ My bill from Progressive came in today.I feared it was coming soon and was watching for it by the day. My next 12 months for my '99 X1,'00 Ducati996,and '05 Xb12r will cost me $1843./w a $500 deductible per bike on collision.AAAAARRRRRRGGHHH,but my wife wants me to keep the collision.I could save over $900 W/O collision.

Just a tip!
I have found Geico to be far more expensive than almost ANY other company.
It's not really any surprise. They must spend billions on advertisnig! Every other TV comercial & print Ad is for Geico. That money HAS to come from somewhere.
Shop Around!

State Farm kicked me out of their coverage and told me to never come back (well, they said check back in 5 years). I never had a claim, either.

Screw 'em. I qualified for USAA and now tax payers subsidize my motorcycle insurance (not really, but it sure feels that way).

I'm happier than the Gieco man.

I'm in Ontario Canada, and I picked up full coverage (1mil liability, pl, pd, comprehensive, collision etc.)

price converted is about $600 U.S. per year... Not bad I think for an XB9s.

My "old" insurance wanted around $1200 yr. based on their "sportbike" classification. State farm changed there pricing based on cc's not long ago and now get $350 yr for full coverage. I just got a quote from them on an '06 Kawasaki ZX 14 for $495 yr!

Mike, if you're a single guy, that is a great rate for that coverage in metropolitan Texas.

If you're married, you're being screwed blue on your insurance.

CC I would have to Disagree with the Geico claim.. I pay 246/year full coverage with 250 deductable..

I posted something like this before but the biggest driver with insurance now adays is your Beacon/credit score.. Don't know why but I have friends that work in insurance and they told me that.. take your self and a buddy that you know has worse or better credit and run it through progressive and I guarantee it will be different. Why do you think that ask for your social #... my .02
