Has anyone attempted this yet? I'm wondering how difficult it would be to modify the Uly saddlebag brackets to mount up to a Lightning frame. I'd like you get a Uly, but can't touch the ground (not even close). Can you say XB Lightning sport tourer with hard bags? Hmmmmm.

You are not alone. I'm waiting for a lightning with that Uly seat, tail, and luggage set-up.

you could just put the uly tail on a new S and be done with it. or put a lower suspension on a uly. not 100% sure on it but from what i have been looking at a suspension swap could lower it down to about a regular S. no guarantee as of yet on that though.

I'd do what Tim suggested if I had an SS. The Uly tail should bolt right on and you
have the ability to bolt factory bags right on after that.
A sport tourer for those without 38" inseams.

i forgot to add.. only problem i have heard of being a possiability with the uly tail on the S's would be the back passenger pegs as they are mounted different on the uly and you would have to change that stuff. maybe a ground clearance issue with some of that extra stuff if you still wanted to corner hard??? not sure just a thought that Al and i were talking about the other day. definantly both options deserve more looking into and i plan on it i have just been to busy at work lately to make the time to take some measurements and such from one of the uly's.

This was kind of discussed previously. The Uly and SS tails are slightly wider, so will bolt on the other models with spacers easily (Trojan put an R tail on the Ulysses and had to shave off 1/4 inch from the inside). I'm going to put a Ulysses tail on my Firebolt to get the backrest and option for bags. You would have to get the Ulysses footpeg hangers for the passenger mounts.

I'll post pics when I'm done...
