I was interested in getting a lower fairing for my XB12R. I know a couple people on here have them and i was wondering where you guys got them. Do they come painted or primered? Are they hard to mount? Thanks, Brad

I actually like the quality of the sebimoto plastic better.
http://racingmotorcycles.com/products.asp?id=18

I had forgotten about these guys. They were advertising at daytona $450 a set for race plastic.
I've never seen their Buell plastic though.
http://www.godfatherracing.com/
The stuff they handed out listed Buell. I'd give them a call.

i went to godfatherracing.com and couldn't find anything about Buell. i agree with you, i also like the sebimoto plastic better. is that what they list as fiberglass? the kevlar is very expensive tho. but it all looks good

The Fiberglass sebimoto "plastic" has kevlar re-inforcement at strategic points.

Generally it is very good quality. The kevlar does look good, but is too pricey for me.

Call the guys at godfather, the printed stuff at daytona listed Buell and they may not have updated their website recently.

talked to Godfathers and they took the sharkskins and made a mold so really its a copy of sharkskins.

The godfathers kit is the upper and lower fairing, tail, tank cover, and front fender for 560.00 510 for kit and 50 shipping.

I have the Sebimoto kit. Nice fit & finish, mounted easily and held up well in a 50mph lowside at Loudon.....

Hmmmm. I have a copy of the flyer they handed out at Daytona here. (In the pit pass holders they were giving away)
It pretty clearly has the price at $450, and at the track they said they didn't have the bodywork made yet, so it couldn't
have been a "Daytona only" price. This may get you a price break if you go that way. But maybe not.

Not posted as advertising, only to help a badwebber get a better price.
I have no Affiliation with godfather, except as a customer on their
dyno once last year.

If they just made copies of the sharkskinz, I'd still say go with the sebimoto.

Is this for a street of track bike btw? I don't remember if you said what the intended use is.

For the race fairings that do not come with the headlight holes pre-cut are they hard to cut? Thanks, Brad.

If desired you can paint the "cat eye' headlight surrounds onto the race plastic to give it the stock look.

Mine is the street version, but the stock style indentations are all white.

It would be nice if there was a way to just get side panels to work with the stock fairing. I used to have an early Suzuki GS700ES with a fairing similar in style to the stock XBR. I had an aftermarket fairing the attached where the stock fairing left off. It consisted of two sides and a bottom (I have pics somewhere at home). I hate the idea of having to replace the entire fairing plus the fact that most of the full fairings available aren't cut out for the headlights.

I remember those. I had similar fairings on my 85? vf1000f many years ago.

Wasn't it targa that made those?

That is the sharkskinz street fairing on my street bike.
Our race bike is wearing the sebimoto fiberglass fairing.

Yep, the bike was originally built by hals.
In fact it is the bike in the pic on their web site.
If you've never installed a race fairing on a bike I
highly recommend having someone that has help you
install the fairings on your bike. It will save time
and maybe a miss drilled hole or two. These come
completely un-drilled, and the dimples don't always
line up in the correct place.

here is one generic guide to installation:
