Yeah, around 225-230 is the best you're going to find. See if Al or Dave will match it or get close. I'm sure you'll have to pay for shipping from that place, and maybe one of the sponsors would take care of that for you for the business. At least give them the opportunity, and then go with what is best for you. | ||

I am all about supporting sponsors but $34 is $34, I work for a living just like the next guy. Star Cycle is $250 shipped and discount motorcycle parts is $249 shipped. If you can match this to 19804 Al, I would definetly order it from you. | ||

Hey I understand money being tight. believe me. I try to spend that money where it will do me the most good in the long run. The difference between a 5 star restaurant and a greasy spoon is how you're treated when you walk through the door. They buy the same supplies from the same vendors cooked by the same bunch of cooks that rotates around so the employers can avoid paying for benefits. I appreciate what you do guys! | ||

I will say a few things about the Jardine. I would opt for the TI version due to issues with the alloy tearing. This is caused by the exhaust popping on de acceleration (basically mini explosions) that happen inside the can. The reason that this is an issue is because the end cap is on the inside of the can instead of outside where it should be (Micron did it the right way). The TI can is tougher and can handle more "abuse". There are other issues with the pipe also. The biggest issue is head bearing service. The bike has to be suspended and the handle bars need to free to move so the stock jack point (the muffler) was a great setup. With a Jardine you have to remove the can and place a piece of wood or other flat firm object under the engine then jack it from there. Not a terrible issue but at least you know ahead of time. With that said I love my TI Jardine and unless the Micron makes some serious power over the Jardine in the upcoming dyno shoot out I will stick with it. | ||

Fellas, a muffler is a muffler is a muffler. If a warranty issue comes up, its with Jardine, not the retailer. I had no idea what I was gonna get myself into with this one. Sheesh Diablobrian and Jerseyguy, you almost made me feel guilty for spending my money on the best deal. What kind of customer service can you expect on a retail sale, it is by no means comparable to a meal at a restaraunt. For the record, I have bought from both Al and Daves dealership, I would have said Dave in particular if I could have got reached him, he was on the line with another customer so I ordered from a co-worker of his. Should I not post questions of this kind here again? | ||

Dude you ask whatever question you want! I always try to help people, and almost everyone here will try to help too. Some just answer in different ways, and some are pretty bias toward certain exhausts. Were all here for the same reason I think? | ||

I appreciate the advice on the Ti exhaust but once again its money. I have had a YZF426 and a CRF450 that blew the packing out often so I am familiar with drilling rivets and fixing cans. And the jacking issue I foresaw, I have a bike jack and will just take the can off to service things that I cant do on stands. | ||

There can be a difference even on warranty issues. Ask anyone that had a corbin seat problem that bought from Al, He has gone to bat for them with the manufacturer and gotten results where they hit a brick wall on their own. Dave has a lot of connections and pull with the manufacturers because of the volume he moves. Once again it does matter. I wasn't trying to make you feel guilty for finding a deal. I was trying to explain why sometimes the lowest price does not dictate the best deal. I have no affiliations with any of our sponsors other than being a customer. I do know that if you do not patronize a business that caters to your specific needs it won't be there when you need it. The restaurant thing was just an example to illustrate my point. I could have used hotels or any stratified business model (where you have multiple levels of service and price). Once again don't feel guilty about finding a deal. I just have a different opinion of what constitutes a good deal. This is coming from a disabled vet living on a fixed income with three kids. I know what money being tight is all about. |
