the tfi and power commander set-ups are falling out of favor right now.
The Direct-Link software has rendered them obsolete.

I had the TFI on my 12S, and it worked very well with my CAI and D&D setup, AFTER it was dyno tuned. They work great for a basic upgrade, but as Brian stated, they are falling out of favor with Direct-Link coming on the market, but the TFI is cheaper.

Buying the software (350), the key (250), and the dyno time using a WIDE BAND O2 meter (at best 2-4 hours at an average of 50-75 bucks an hour) to acheive optimal results, will not be cheap obviously, however....

There are ways to get pre-made maps depending on what components you have installed, but still EVERY bike in the end will still be different to some degree, but the "Respectable Companys/Sponsors" wont sell you a grenade map, so keep that in mind if you go that route.

I personally had no problems with my TFI, and I am sure there are many more running around out there still doing what they were designed to do, be a means to prevent a problem to hardware and pocketbook.

I actually have one for sale, as I went with the directlink system with my Micron purchase, so if interested in trying the inexpensive route, LMK

still running a TFI on my 12, its working but i agree with Diablobrian that i want to ditch it ASAP in favor of the new D-L software and tuning abilities. i'm on my second TFI unit, first one failed afer a few months.
