Author Message   Rafartist Posted on Monday, March 20, 2006 - 09:12 am:        What stands are you guys using? I am not looking to spend more than I absolutely need to. I have a mc lift and just plan to take the ex. off once I get my Jardine on. I would like to be able to put it up on stands to do minor maintenance though. Where can I get some cheap ones or have any of you made your own?   Slaughter Posted on Monday, March 20, 2006 - 09:21 am:        Hooooo boy - this opens up a can of worms. I used Handy brand (about $100 a set) and had to fiddle with them, they never really felt stable.. Lockhart Phillip stands I borrowed - cheap and barely adequate. Dropped the bike one time with each type. Finally bought Pit Bull for both ends. No regrets but generally they're $150 each end. Vortex comes a close second. probably doesn't need to be mentioned, but never use a front stand without the rear stand already in place and stable.   Henrik Posted on Monday, March 20, 2006 - 11:32 am:        I've been very happy with my Pit Bulls as well. They don't come cheap though. I saw another interesting - and even more expensive - rear stand from Cycle Cat. It'll get the bike on the rear stand directly from the kick stand - no need to balance the bike upright with one hand while maneuvering the stand around with the other. They are front and back and they paint them to match your bike if you want.. I paid $100 for front and back and they look just like the pit bulls. Mine are also painted Yellow to match bike..
