How hard is it to perform? Must you take it to the dealer due to the complexity of it? The dealer wants 250.00

So, I take it that it is easier to pay rather than play around with this?

if you have the means I think I would do it myself, the only part that would really scare me is changing the fork oil cause I have never had forks apart before but other then that if you follow the service manual it cant be that bad. but what is your time worth to you. it still might be cheaper for you to take it to them and have it back in a day then you maybe taking a weekend.

Yeah 10k is easy stuff, only "hard" part would be the forks, if it does comedown to it you can just pull them and have them done at a shop.

If your bike is still under warrranty I would take it to the stealership. By doing this they cant say a problem if and when it occurs is beause you did the maintenance. If its not under warranty, get the manual and do it yourself, save money and learn your bike.
Good luck

250$ is a helluva deal.
450$ is the cheapest I've found n I was quoted all the way up to 950$ within 300 miles from me.
