I don't think that would be a good idea. It wouldn't be a slider. It would be a "sticker". All sliders are rounded and made out of a material that won't grab so it can slide across the pavement preventing damage to the bike. The last thing you want is it to grab sending the bike flipping causing major damage. Now, if it is just for looks then that is another thing but your gambling on the fact that you won't end up using them at some point. My .02 |

Some could be made out of delrin or other low friction plastic. then painted with "chrome paint" if you want a metal look. (Message edited by diablobrian on March 17, 2006) |

http://www.candydarling.com/custommetal/barends.htm http://www.lynchwerks.com/axle_spikes.htm I found these, hee-hee. Right out of Mad Max. Probably not what you had in mind, but a "streetfighter" should start a fight, no? |

Look at some of the harley davidson custom catalogs, I think J&P cycles has some ,there not sliders but axle caps, you could attach them to sliders..... |

I have seen a thread on using skateboard wheels for axle sliders. Im looking for the pictures of the bike right now. Ricta wheels come in a BUNCH of colors and have the bearings inside that will spin and allow the bike to slide rather than flip.(In theory). Im going to give this a try for my bike..... |
