I figure someone has, but I know that these can get quite hot, by judging from my cars HID's. There are reports of 100+ watt bulbs melting plastic that aren't HID, so we will see if anyone has ever implemented this.

some people have cooked the wires for the lights puting in bulbs that are too hot, if you get the conversion though that has the wires and ballasts and all that, you should be good, there was a thread yester day about it. i will try and find it

HID's draw less current and put out less heat. Actual HID's. Now if you mean the "Blue looking bulbs", then those can put out to much heat. Just stay with 55watt bulbs and you should be fine

i run an HID low beam on my lightning, works very well. puts out a LOT of light.
mounted the BALLAST and IGNITOR behind the flyscreen, and had to wire it to stay ON at all times when ignition is on.

How long have you been running them? Any heat problems? Those are 100w?

I have been running them since I got my XB in July. and yeah, they are 100 Watt. Nope, no heat problems at all. no melting, no electrical consumption. Just plain bright lights. I think they are nice and are really white. Ebay... always ebay!

the hue is different from 6500k to 7500k. The 7500 is more bluish. basically a whiter white.
