Hey Guys, Well you all know about the axles that get seized on the bearings when changing tires and make it sometimes a hell of a job to ge the axles out right...Well.. I am having one hell off a time now trying to get the Pivot bolt out of the swing arm... Have it all stripped down now just need to get this damn bolt out to install the new swing arm... It is unscrewed from the inner primmary/engine case and comes out enough I wd. say about an 1/8 of an inch, just enough to get a pair of Vice Grips on it and have tried banging on the end of the grips to try to free it up, but just keeps turning , have sprayed different free all oils on both sides of the swing arm to soak down around the bearings , but still no luck??? Why could they not use Stainless axles and we wd. not have these plms. Weight savings HAHA for the maybe a LB. in the total difference for all three axels.. DAMN\ Okay guys Let me know the answer I know someone must have came across this PLM. THANKSsssssssssssss |

Okay Guys I got it out, FWIW.. Just made a steel plate , took the vise grip adjuster bolt out, put it through a hole in the plate, screwed it back in clamped down hard, sprayed more free all oil let it soaked and then hit on the plate and after awhile it broke loose from the bearings.... |

that bolt besides going through the bearings tapers down in the middle and can be a pain to get out if the shoulder on the other end catches coming out. |

That reminds me. I found a solution to prevent the bearings from freezing to the axle. I'll post it up in another thread. |
