I'm still looking for a 9s, but wondering how much / where to get new plastics. I'm trying to increase my options in the used market by looking at colors that I don't necessarily like.

You can find stuff on ebay, or you can dye or get your plastics painted.

It's only a couple hundred dollars to swap out the plastics [retail / parts price].

Even less via ebay - but check and know the values first lest you overpay in a bidding war.

The plastic bits are easy to change too.

You can always use rit fabric dye to dye you plastic a different color if you don't like the color you have.

Daves prices & service is great. You couldn't go wrong. He has sent me a fair bit of gear to Australia that even after freight works out way cheaper than the local dealers.
Cant wait for the latest delivery to arrive.

Cheers

Thanks Dave, thats what I was mainly looking for. As far as dying goes, is it a difficult process? How are the results? Anyone have any pictures?

Best advice I found in these is to test dye a golf ball to test your intended color. there are pics sprinkled through here of dyed bodywork.

Dave,

How much for the tail section for the R model with the seat cowl?
Any price break on buying the whole set?

Are all the airboxes interchangeable? Can you swap the 9 and the 12 airboxes without major modification?

The airboxes are identical, with the exception of the 2006 bikes having the air intake at the filler neck. But that makes no difference regarding fitment.

This is one of the great things about these bikes: you can totally change them up on the cheap!

Dave S.

If you don't mind, I have an 03 XB9S. What colors are actually available to me for this bike?

Thank you.
