This is a good reason why you should always wear your gear.

That had to hurt little bit. There also those whisper things you get.

Last summer a NESBA control rider was facing backwards giving signals to a rider and hit a deer broadside. He never knew it was there. He broke many bones.

It happened at Summit Point which is in rural WV.

What do you mean "whisper things?" the whisper that sometimes says "don't ride today . . . your number will come up" or "slow down theres something fishy goin on up ahead .. ." or those deer whistle doohickies? The deer whistles have been revealed as a farce, they have zero affect -

Once I stopped (in my Ford Escape) for a small group of deer crossing the road. Suddenly, while I was completely stopped, another deer on the side of the road bolted smack into the side of my vehicle. Luckily no damage other than some minor paint scratches and a wad of fur stuck in the crack around the door.

Lucky I wasn't on my bike!!

Deer are stupid, stupid, stupid, and a threat to us all!

I ran over a fawn last year on my 03 XB 9S. Going about 45, had it shut down to about 20, took it into the gravel, hit the deer, got loose a little, and rode it out. Stayed up thank god. Just a little buff on the front fender. The deer shook it off and ran away. Thank god it wasn't the mother who ran to the other side of the road. My own fault for riding the back roads of Wisconsin in the late evening.

I would like to take this opportunity to call my brothers at arms to duty and aid me in ridding the earth of the deer menace!

While we're at it, badgers, voles, bobcats, porcupines, wart hogs, and rattlesnakes need some attention as well.

Deer kill more people than sharks. But then again, you can just wheelie over a shark.

I will be shooting every one that walks by this fall. Got 7 last year, coulda had twice that, but no more passing up shots for me. I'll leave em laying where they fall this year. Overgrown rats.

The biggest problem is not really the deer in the wild, but the deer close to residentual areas. The number of deer in the "wilderness" areas have dropped and the number in residentual areas has tripled in the last 20 years, I believe.

So, my point is, going out into the woods and killing 7 deer in legal hunting areas is not the answer. Their are barely enough to hunt in my area as it is. Now, if I could hunt in the woods behind my house, I would have atleast 10 shots in a day to take.

I hunt in Loudoun County VA, one of the top 3 fastest growing counties in the nation for the last 5 years. Combine that with the largest deer herd by county in all of VA and you get a conflagration of deer and vehicles every year. I hunt from a stand not 1 mile from a major 2 lane thoroughfare - 60 mph with fields on both sides, and a deer in the ditch every mile or so. I'm with you Shea, but around here we have what are called Urban Archery Seasons, unlimited bag limits 6 months of the year with a bow, so this is the place that shooting 7 may be helping the cause. I only hunted gun season (unlimited does are legal during this season too - truly this place is being over-run) and could of had way more, but my tender heart kept me from shooting more than I could eat/give away, but after watching that video first hand, I'll have no remorse - my friends, my wife and I ride every day that we can and I don't need that hassle.
