I am planning on doing some extended road trips on the XBR this summer. I already have a tank bag but am looking to extend my storage space. I was wondering if anyone on here has the Buell saddlebags and what they think. If you have another kind could you post up pics as well as info?

Thanks
Mark

I have both the saddle bags and the trunk bag for my lightning. What exactly do you want to know??? I might be interested in selling as I want some hard bags. Let me know and I will do what I can to get you the info you need.

Here are the CORTECH sport saddlebags and tail bag. Haven't had a chance to use them yet as the snow is still to deep, but seem like they will do the trick... Nice bags... KRMc

I have a similar set up on my Lightning. I have that larger bags, not the sport bags. Plenty of room for roaming.

i agree with 1stxb. the CORTECH bags are the way to go. i tried the BUELL BAGS and they are crap in my opinion. poor quality and too small. i sold them and bought the CORTECH and am totally impressed w/ the quality and amount that they hold. very happy with them so far. i just need it to warm up so i can sneak away for a while and use them...

Sparky - Those Chase Harper's look really nice. Could you post a pic from the front and rear so we can get a better look at them?

Erik, I ordered the tank bag from Bartels' a few years ago. It was offered for the Thunderbolt. I could be wrong but I think Wolfman made it for Buell. You might want to ask them (Wolfman) what would be equivalent or if they have some leftovers.

JnJ, Let me check my Pics Vault when I get home.

I have the cortechs and after only a few long trips, the passenger heel guards have ripped open the bottoms on both. Haven't found a better way to mount it so they don't touch, but just be aware, it can be problematic!! The rain covers are also not worth a whole lot. They gather a lot of water. I can't say that I wouldn't get them again, because they seem so good, but I'm trying to work out the bugs... tailbag is great, saddlebags, not sure yet...

Breggs, I took my rear pegs off then took a piece of nylon strapping and and a SS split ring and, with the rearmost peg bolt and a washer, through the strapping, made a place to attach the lower straps of the bags. Quick and easy to remove the bags and barely able to see the rings... KRMc

I don't know, it looks to me that the buell saddlebags and trunk bags were made by or modeled from the cortech bags. Yeah?
