Dented my front wheel for the 2nd time, F*&K!!!

Anyway, I read somewhere the Uly wheels are stronger in the rim lip area, can someone confirm this?

Any problem with a Uly rim on a 'Bolt?

Thanks.
Sherm

Probably only with the Fashion Police, the Ugly, ooops Uly wheel NOT as good looking or as light as the XBR wheel, me, I'd rather chance denting a third wheel.

Heavier because of the extra material around the rim lip, right? Where did I read this?

The only difference visually is the color, right?

Exactly how are you denting your wheels? I'm curious because I ride wheelies constantly and I've never hurt my wheels. Do you crash a lot? Just kidding, but seriously.

1st time I ran over a piece of scrap iron angle at night, this time, a routine (but harsh) pothole on a back road at 60mph.

I wheelie a lot, too, never any problems there.

I've considered going to the standard XB wheels on my Uly because they are lighter. A set of black wheels on my orange Uly would look sweet! : )

I keep searching eBay. For some reason, people sell Buell wheels CHEAP! I've seen them for $100 each with tire mounted.

BigSherm,

Pretty sure there are some shops that can fix up a moderately bent rim for you. Google "motorcycle bent aluminum wheel repair texas" and you'll likely find some.

That stinks. Hardly enough for an insurance claim, but enough to break the piggy bank.

(Psssst Blake, don't tell him they can be straightened - I'm always looking for spares)

...ahem!

Big Sherm - I'll take those dangerous, bent rims off your hands, saving you from who knows what kinda personal injury. I'll even pay shipping.

No need to thank me, glad to be of service! ;)

I would think that putting even a slightly heavier wheel on the front of an XB-R would play hell with the ride characteristics, such as turning???
