I tried looking and searching before asking, but to no avail. First, a quick question in general about the XB frame pucks, how do they attach to the frame?
Secondly, I see that there is touch-up paint for the frame, has anyone painted the pucks to match the frame. I just wanted to see it to know how it looks. I am sure someone has tried it or atleast thought about it. Thanks.

Pucks have been painted with frame paint in the spray can. Some have had mixed results.....peeling. Maybe someone will chime in with more info.

I saw that they were self-adherring, but i just didnt see how they would hold up in a crash. I figured they would come off it you dumped it going at almost any speed?
Thanks for the respones. I have been surfing the photos and haven't seen one with color-match pucks yet. Anyone?

Nope, I've seen pics of highway speed crashes where they stayed put.

Of course, proper prep and install is everything.

Doing lunch after heading up a factory Demo ride at Hals last year, I was talking with Jerry, the guy who heads up one of the "Fleets".
He had an XB "ride" over 120FT on those frame pucks.

I crashed mine in a corner in a low side, and the puck looks like new except for a couple of scratches. They will crush upon impact as they are designed to do, but i have never heard of them coming off in a crash.

Pucks should be your first mod/purchase.

DarkHorseMoto axle sliders, your second...

I painted mine. No peeling or probs so far... Use a good plastic primer like Bulldog. I've heard of people baking pieces they paint between coats but I didnt because of the adhesive. Dont think I even clear coated.

Pucks are the best thing you can do for your Buell.
Badweb price is 44.95 even though the Buell website says they list for 39.95 they went up in price several months ago but they haven't changed the website.
They list for 49.95
I have them in stock.
They are very easy to install and will protect your frame in most crashes.

Krylon Fusion Yellow spray can paint matches the Buell yellow plastics rather well and does not require a plastic primer: it is made for plastic.xx

Thanks guys. When I buy my 9SL next month, I am putting these bad boys on first thing. I was wanting a Black one, and then I liked the black pucks, but the one I am getting is yeller, so I thought the pucks would look nicer in silver.

I just put pucks on my 9s last night. I figured they just stuck on with 3m double stick, but they don't. They use some knarly stuff that covers the entire inside of the puck and isn't going anywhere. I was VERY impressed at how well they stick.

You can also buy the carbon frame puck covers from Al at American Sport Bike. Leave them carbon, or paint over them and you don't have to worry about the paint since you wouldn't be painting on to rubber. It seems like others have had good luck painting them though.
