Got the grips today. I've installed the left grip, but I can't figure out the throttle grip. The service manual does not give a clear illustration on how to remove the old and install the new. Help me please. |

You have to split the throttle housing by removing the bolts on the front side. |

hey there, I put a set on my 9r just after Christmas. remove the two bolts from the plastic housing that holds the kill seitch/starter button. this allows the housing to separate away from the handle bar. inside, you'll see the throttle cables and how their ends hook into the throttle sleeve in the grip. pull the ends out, the original right grip should slide off the bar. remove the bar end cap with some pliers. slide the new grip on, hook the throttle cables into the new throttle sleeve, make sure the throttle cables are running right inside the housing (there's little "channels" for them to run in), reassemble the housing on the bar. you're done! should take <10 minutes. hope this helps!
