Hey all,
Yup I took the plunge head on and am in the proccess of buying my 05 xb12r. But my question is about the guys warranty on it currently. he said it is a 5 yr extended one but I am wondering about if I will be able to keep it and place it in my name. The bike has the race kit intalled by the dealer and maintained by the dealer and all papers to prove it. He thought that so long as the dealer did the work warranty is ok... I am just wondering really and thought I would start here asking questions first.. If I can't keep the warranty Oh well.. No biggy.

You should be able to transfer the warranty with no problems! I called one phone number (it's on the warranty papers) when I bought my used xb and the deed was done.

Yeah, they told me it was transferable when I bought mine. Just make the call like Whiskeytango said.

I also transfered my extended warranty. The H-D dealer has the paperwork for it. You should fill out two forms. ONE for the factory warranty ( 2 years) and ONE for the extended warranty. Both have to be signed by the Dealer as they verify the mileage.

Once you send the paperwork in, you should recieve a new warranty card under your name.

There is a time limit ( I think 30 days ) in which to do this transfer if it is to be done correctly.

Good luck

Sweet,
That sounds pretty easy to do then, I shouldn't have any issues with time limits. Heck the hard part is already done. (aside from waiting to pick up the new bike) I told my wife I was going for it and like I thought,, STARK raveing mad. it took a couple days but think shes ok... lol Thanks guys
