I swapped my 9s seat for a Cityx seat. I like it, it's a bit higher, but ultimately more comfortable.

i think i could repad my seat for around $25. i woudnt mind a cityx seat... but dont want to spend $200+ for a select or street fighter. i would rather spend money on go fast goodies.

Rudy838- easy to do if you take your time. If you are uneasy about messing up your seat find a gel insert and take it to a upholstery shop and I'm sure it would only be a few bucks. I redid my wifes Sporty seat and it turned out great. Made it lower and narrower. A local guy did my WideGlide seat for me for $25. Good luck.

I cut the foam right off my seat and completely redid it,and had it recovered .The foam is injected into the seat and base so it is almost impossible to take off the vinyl without wrecking the foam. You might want to try it and reglue your old cover on,but that might be a lot of work!
and yes ,there is an inch of gel foam on the top layer

Check out Sargent Cycle in Jacksonville, FL. They do good seat mods for a reasonable price. They have a complete price list at their site, and also sell their own high-density foam if you want to do it yourself:

You can find a CityX seat on here all the time, cheap. I say ride your bike for a while, then switch, your azz will appreciate it.
