Sometime back someone posted a picture of their bike with the headers painted with plastikote. If someone remembers who it was, please post an update on how the paint is standing up. Thanks.

That was me. Seems to be holding up just fine. However, I should add that my header was in mint condition(very new bike), and on an 06 Ss. I've noticed that my header had a "rougher" gold finish to it compared to the smooth headers on other S models I've seen. Don't know if that has anything to do with my success, but thought I should put that out there. No flaking or bubbling to date...almost 1K more miles on it. If I ever get stone chips or scratches, I plan on just touching it up. Someone on here recently tried painting his though, and had a spot on the front which is giving him problems. Not sure if he ever figured out why, or got it to work. He did have older, smooth tubes though.
FWIW,
TK

It was me I dont know what happened they looked great till all the paint flaked off?? I think they needed to be roughed up a little more. I cleaned them and shot two coats and let dry then ran the bike and it bubbled in a few spots. I looked at them the next day and it cracked all over the place. It could also been the extreme temp differences the metal went through that day. Also stainless is picky it doesnt like to be coated I have heard.

Hey Rainbolt, Let me know who you are going to use. I have mine painted but would like to either coat them or wrap them.
