im going to have a odie exhaust and a cut 12 lid on the 9s this weekend, and until i get the race ECM ordered and to me, will the bike still run strong with the 2 mods, or do i need the race ECM for it to run solid with the mods?

Thanks

Alex

It will run good but real lean.
DO NOT RUN THESE MODS WITHOUT A RACE ECM or TECHLUSION FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME!

what if your just running the odie pipe on a 12r with stock ecm and filter? would it still be lean enough to not be able to run that setup for very long?

I cannot say for sure without a Dyno but you should definately consider getting some more fuel to the engine.

options:
ECM
TFI
PCIII
or
DirectLink

I've ran mine for 2000 miles now, but I would not recommend running it for even that long.
If you must for a short period, MONITOR your plugs, mine surprised me this weekend, they were completely coated white.
By the way, I have the exact same mods and I want to say you couldn't have made a finer choice. The pipe ROCKS! Great bang (and rumble) for the buck. Woke my bike up.

We have a guy in our Club that has been running the drummer, moded air box and a stock ecm for a couple of YEARS with no ill effects. AND he rides a ton of miles. I'd get the race ecm, for sure. But I don't think it will lean it out to the point of destroying the engine. That being said, we also have a guy with a D&D, race ecm and a stock air lid on his 12, and that was running SO rich it went off the scale on the Dyno and was making a whopping 74hp. It's improved after he swiss cheesed his lid. Go with the ecm. I have heard numerous issues with the other set ups. Mostly bad.
