they were referring to putting the primary drive from a 12 on a big bore 9 if you are referring to hogs' post? the primary drive ratio is a little higher on a 12.

I saw on trojan's website that they have a thing for increased torque at loss of 10% of topspeed, but it was for a XB12.

Do they make something like this for a 9?

I forget the name of who made them, they where only sold for a limited time from Trojan I think.

Send Shazam a pm, he is the only one I know that has them. I think they cost around $800. He has them on his XB14R.

We have 2 kits available for the XB9 models. One will give more acceleration at the expense of a little top speed, whilst the other will give more top speed at the expense of a little acceleration. Both kits include new front and rear billet CNC'd pulleys and are priced at GBP 400 each (approx US$690).

They are listed in the Driveline section of our website.

Buell_892 I run a chain drive on my bike. check my profile.

While the set-up I have is expensive there are less expensive versions if you want to alter the
gear ratios on tour bike. I believe trojan offers one of them.

Just remember when considering gearing, if you cant reach the limiter in top gear,
you don't need any taller gears.

It takes more torque down low to get rolling on taller gears (no problem on a twin),
and more hp up top to make it worth while. If you do not have a heavily modded
bike, it is probably not a worth while change. Remember the bottle does run out
and you don't want to ride a bike on the street designed specifically for nos.
You will be unhappy anytime you are not "on the juice". Been there, done that.
Having different gearing for racing is a different story though.

Bottom line, don't throw out your stock gearing without careful consideration.
