I read a ton of info on this site and others about slip-ons for the XB12 and couldn’t gleam enough information to definitively make up my mind. I wanted to hear them all and the SOUND they make as well before deciding. So, I went to the Buell Sponsored Demo day at Libery Buell last fall and got an opportunity to hear all those I was considering. The Buell race can, the D&D, Jardine, Drummer, and the Drummer SS. Well, after hearing them all and comparing all the dyno’s, I decided on the Drummer SS , put in my order with Kevin as soon as I got home and it arrived several weeks later. The season was basically over and it took me a while to find the time to get the can, ECM and K&N installed, but I accomplished that feat a couple weeks ago and yesterday it was nice enough here to give the bike a try..... WOW is the only way I can describe it! The power has increased over the entire rpm range and the sound out of this thing is absolutely incredible. The buddy that went riding with me commented that the sound this thing puts out is worth the money even if there isn’t any performance gain and I have to agree. This sound from this bike is mechanical music! I also have to state that Kevin at KD Fabrications (artful creator for those who don’t know - www.kdfab.com) is an incredible person to deal with. He is super enthusiastic about is product and customer service. He called me twice after sending the unit to me to make sure it arrived and to make sure I didn’t have any problems. He was more disappointed than I when I informed him that I hadn’t had a chance to get it on the bike and try it out. I swear if I lived closer he would have come over and put it on himself. Sweet! That looks fast! I didn't like the Rs at first, but they have really grown on me, they look more evil than the Ss. I love my Drummer SS! Buy one from Kevin so he don't go broke! WT | ||

easinc, we'll have to meet up when the weather turns (i'm in orange county, also use danbury hd, good dealer), gotta see that one. the loss of the chin fairing was the only detriment to the ss drummer before, looks like they've solved it! youre pics probably just sold hammer71 on one as well. mike | ||

Paul, I'm glad you put that thing on finally, I guess I can turn around and head back home now, I was halfway there...haha!!! I'm gonna be on the 3rd batch before you know it....all the second are sold....looks like your buddies bike beside yours needs one.... I can't wait for Thomas Lindeman and Dr. Sues to put their's on the 1250's, that will be fun.... I can build the SS for the 9's and 1050's if anyone is interested, I need to know the specifics of the engine and I can make one for even the 1420....using the stock header on the 1350 and 1420 is easy, I can tell you how to fit it up and I'll do the rest... Hey, Mikexlr650 .... That was my feeling on the chin spoiler as well. I think the Lightning looks great with or without the spoiler, but IMHO, the Firebolt looks much better with it. Kevin solved that problem with brackets that allow it’s installation (this should answer your question Fravel ). For anyone installing this set-up, you must install the bracket that attaches to the kick stand mount BEFORE installing the can. The other side mount can be attached after. When the weather gets better, we absolutely need to get together. My buddy (DEW - Dutchess) has a nine and we’re usually carving up the roads here in CT (we’ve got some good ones) but would love to try some in your area as well. We’re also going to try to go to the track day in Pocono on the 9th of April.....something you and hammer71 may want to think about! This can is something else and I can just about guarantee you’ll buy one once you hear it. Next time Danbury HD sponsors one of those events where they offer free dyno’s, I’m going to make sure I get there early and find out what kind of numbers this thing is putting out and make sure that I’ve got everything tuned just right! Easinc - We will be doing the Free Dyno Nights again this year. We are still working out all of the details on dates and times. I will post all of the details on our website and on BadWeb once we finalize everything. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing the Drummer SS in person. If you stop by before the Dyno night, have someone give me a call upstairs so I can come down to say hi and check it out. Also, be sure to take Mikexlr650 up on his offer to meet up for a ride. hey kevin..i had a question. i'm 100% interested in a drummer SS from what i've heard and read. i have a XB9SX that i wanna punch out to a 1050...is there any differences that you'd have to make to the can for the difference? or can i just buy one for my 984 and it be cool when i bump it up to a 1050? also...how much would it all come to if i buy a can and the brackets plus shipping to Kansas City, MO? thanks for any/all info. | ||
