Yesterday my local dealer had a demo day and the Uly was up for that. Got to take it out and run it around. All I can say is, wow! That is one nice bike. The seat while it was a bit hard was comfy. It had the normal seat and I was on the balls of my feet. I think the low seat would get me flat footed. I was amazed on this bike and how light it still felt even with being so high up. The suspension absorbed all the bumps in the road, though I did notice that when you break hard it does like to pitch forward on you. It wasn't enough to make me feel out of control and I think this has to do with the longer springs in the front. I also can see what you Uly owners are talking about with the heat on the right side and a bit in the seat. Being this bike was brand new that fan was running like crazy. I think Odie heat shield for the seat would help. As for the right side, I think the right side air scoop would help in that when your moving it would direct more air to that area. All in all though that bike is the one I'm looking for. It would be perfect to tour on. Now, I just gotta pay off my City X and then it's Uly purchasing time. Oh, forgot to mention. The new transmition is a hell of a lot better than the old one. Sucker was smoooooooooth. | ||

Pre-load, comression and rebound settings make a H U G E difference on the XB12X....Once set up to a proper baseline you can tweek it in to your preferences and riding style... If you're 5'9" or less I recommend the low seat... well worth the money for the added confidence at stops... (Message edited by freyke on January 29, 2006) | ||

What a righteous kick in the ash that bike is. Inside 10 minutes I was as comfortable in the twisties as I am on the Duc. Amazing. | ||
