I just found out that the XB has a "time to change battery indicator". I noticed my clock "resetting" or changing times over the last couple of days. just tried to start bike and battery is dead! Rode it four hours ago no problem starting.

Watch that clock people!

I don't believe that "necessarily" means it's time to change the battery. It may just not be putting out enough volts and the ignition is taking all the "juice" and resetting the clock. It may just need a good charge. At least that was the case with mine and after charging it's fine. If your battery doesn't hold charge then it probably needs replaced.

Blackxb9, My battery was three years old and the bike is ridden virtually every day. Bummer is I did not get to pick a fancy battery as I am stuck in town I got one from Car Quest for $70.00. Sitting in coffee shop waiting delivery.........

That is the same time My bike started running crappy, the clock was different all the time and the bike started acting wierd. We shall see what a new bat and plug wires do in spring. I tested it and it was only 12.5, I think the manuel says that 12.5 is only like 50% charge. But its been popping bad on decel and loading up sometimes, I think its the battery. Its also getting a tps reset in spring

My clock has never kept good time. Odo and trip work fine, though.
Doesn't bother me.....when I'm on the bike, I could care less what time it is.

I had the same problem with the clock and the trip-ometer. It was a slightly loose battery cable. Same battery is in it and it's been fine for the last 4 months.
