I would like to get the Pirelli Scorp Sync tires on my bike, I need a 170 for the rear. Is there a place online I can get them or are the available from the dealer in a 170?

Pirelli does not list a 170 for the rear...its either 180 or 160.

I bought mine from motorcyclesuperstore.com. Good price and FREE shipping. Don't remember seeing a 170 though. The 180 is the OEM size.

My 00 M2 (to the best of my knowledge) came from the factory with a 180 dunlop. I could not tell a difference between it and the 170 I replaced it with.

I thought there was a 170 Sync, but I could be mistaken. I was thinking about putting one on my 9sx to see if the handling would get even sharper. I just put on the 180 instead, as my dealer had on in stock when I needed it and was selling it cheaper then local wholesalers (around $140 installed on wheel off bike).

Try www.cyclegear.com they told me they only run to 170 when I was looking around, the website says they only go to 150. Give 'em a call if they're is one in your area.

Check out http://www.swmototires.com/ They seem to have cheaper prices than most other places.

reep,
M2's came with a 170 rear from the factory.

I have ran a 180 before but don't like the handling in the twisties an Battle trax...

They were supposed to, but the guy that sold me mine with only 5000 miles on it swore it came from the factory with that 180 tire. The wear looked right as well for the age of the bike.

They seller could have been lying, or the dealer could have done something to the bike before selling it (I think it sat in a showroom for a long time), but the simplest conclusion is that the occasional 180 went out the door in 2000. No reason for a dealer to have a 180 laying around anyway, even if they did want to use the M2 as the burnout demo on drunken saturday nights before selling it.

Probably just a fluke of some sort.

Per Pirelli's website, Diablo Strada and Diablo Supersport come in 170, Sync's do not.
