So everything was going great until I tried to put the rear strap on my Jardine can. The hole in the new black bracket that bolts to the engine and the holes on the strap DO NOT line up. Not even close, I had to pry the muffler down almost an inch and a half to make them line up partly, and the muffler was cocked at an angle.

Anyone else have this problem? Also, did you put the three oil lines all on the smae side or did you split them up? I got to start it up for a quick second and I must say it sounds amazing, almost like a Duc. Can someone who has one installed take a picture of the rear hanger/strap and how it is mounted so I can see your clearance?

Perhaps they sent you the wrong bracket? Here's the pics of my install on my '05 city-X. I routed the hoses to the primary side.

Thanks Bartimus! I have a question, when you installed the strap, do you remember if it just lined up or did you have to pull the can down some? Maybe I am just being overly cautious because my brackets look the same.

Hmmm, your asking questions that this feeble memory can't bring back, LOL.
I may have had to fiddle with it during installation. I seem to remember trying to bolt the strap on either one side or the other of the tab, but it was too tight so I ended putting one end of the strap on each side. I think If I had it to do again, I wouldn't route ALL the oil lines on the same side, but rather route the one closest to the tab, on the other side. look at the pics. I havn't had any problems with the bracket rubbing through any oil lines, but i have heard stories of others having this problem.
I'd just bolt it up similar to how I have, and then stand back and look at it to see if it's satisfactory for you. I've put about 6500 miles on this Jardine so far with absolutely no problems from the install.
Although I did have my chin fairing crack up front where it used to bolt to the muffler and the local dealer would NOT warranty it because the exhaust had been modified. I just took it to another dealer that was more Buell friendly and they warrantied it no problem.

When I installed mine, I had problems with lining up the hole on the elbow pipe bracket. Is it possible that your problem really lies there? I had to trim the corner of that bracket that is closest to the motor. I would think that if the front isn't lined up right, you would have issues lining up the rear. And I mounted my oil lines 2 on the left, 1 on the right. I would take pics for you, but I reinstalled my stock can after modifying it. good luck

Yes, I had to grind a little bit of the corner off that tab too, but I don't think that is where the problem is coming from. I need to go spend some time re-evaluating what is going on.

Me and my roommate both have jardines and never really had problems with the holes lining up on the rear bracket...Also, we split the oil lines up so there wasn't so much tension on the shorter ones, it's mounted between the hoses.

I'm curious guys. Has anyone had any of the rivets fail, or have the can pull away from the end caps?

Over a year and not a failure on mine...although I'm probably WAY overdue for a re-pack. It just sounds too good to have to tear it apart and through new fiberglass in it.

Just repacked mine and it has 4500 on it and the rivets were tight as ever.

I'm not sure what gives, but I bought one for the weight savings and $$$. Buell factory race pipes are pricy, The loud FX ones, not the kind you can get at the dealerships. My Jardine end cap and canister pulled away from the header ripping the rivets through the stainless steel. I drilled out the old ones, cut down the can and replaced the rivets, only to have it happen again in 2 race weekends. I know a race is going to put a bike through more abuse than on the street but man, this Pipe is sold as a Race Muffler.
I think I might try the Micron so I can save a few bucks for my Penske Shock. Thanks for the feedback fellas
