What is the best way to protect your frame from a crash?
Frame pucks or carbon fiber?

Axle sliders from Dark Horse Moto (site sponser) are very nice. I have them on both of our bikes. Frame pucks from Buell are economical and they work.

Frame pucks are less expensive and work.
Carbon is more, looks cool and works.

The swingarm and front axle sliders look good and work.

Of course I can hook you up with any of them you want and save you 10% to boot!

You can do CF over your Frame pucks like I did.
Mine fell off my jack stand in the garage and took a direct shot on the puck. Not a scratch!

I have dropped my XB three times (not moving...or very fast)...after going years without dropping a bike. I cannot find a single scratch on the bike (the brake lever does have a funny/custom looking bend now, and I had to replace the clutch lever). I have the frame pucks and front and rear sliders, however, don't overlook the rear footpegs/support brackets. I think the bike looks better without them, but I leave them on the bike as an extra safety measure...to catch the bike when/if it falls. As one of my friends said, the Buell is made expecting it to fall down...notice the rubber turn light extensions?

How do the pucks attach to the frame?
You just screw them into the frame. J/K don't do that !

the best frame protection i have found is the crossroads bars, if you have a lightning. i wrecked my bike at high speeds, and the crossroads took most of the damage. the frame or the frame pucks didnt touch the ground.

Grasshoper, I'll tell Dave you have some questions. He's deer hunting so it won't be until after dark. I do know he sells the Dark Horse sliders because I got mine from him.

Black Sun, you got lucky, well I've had this problem with dropping my bike when I get some gravel under my feet and have gone thru, Hmm let's see, I think it's 8 now. Hehe
Maybe I shouldn't be admitting that. But, they have saved from hitting my frame. I just carry extra pegs now, just in case. But, it has almost been a year since the last time in Daytona. lol

Hey Daves, I hear my bike looks Brand New, all clean and polished, Thanks Dude! Can't wait to rip down that track or a stretch of some lonely country road. I wanna ride, I wanna ride, I wanna ride!!!!

Wsp,
The pucks are Buell products
The swingarm and front fork sliders are from DHM(DarkhorseMoto)

Coolice,
Keithe,DHM doesn't make the teflon/nylon sliders. Only aluminum ones.
They are available in either plain alum or black powdercoated.

Here is a crash photo from one of our BadWeB members of what can happen without sliders:

Ouch!

And here is a photo from one of our BadWeB members with DHM sliders:

Protected!

We also sell the sliders separately if you are unfortunate enough to need them!

As far as the frame pucks go, I can tell you from watching my bike go down on it's left side at 35-40 MPH with a buddy of mine on his way down. It ground the puck almost all the way down, but not a mark on my frame. Now I just wished I had the front and rear sliders on!!! oouuch!

Well worth the money!!
