Page 20 of the current issue of MotorCyclist (someone correct me if wrong) has a writeup on the Kawasaki Ninja 650R with the underslung exhaust.

Oposite on page 21 is a full page ad for Buell.

I just found it poetic... : )

Cycle World also has a review of the new R6 in which they point out that the bulk of the muffler is underneath, with only a portion coming out as a short low-slung side pipe that is visible. the writer says something like "Erik Buell must be smiling somewhere" and I believe they used the term "mass centralization" in the explanation of why the muffler was designed that way.

There are a few pics of the bike in a deep lean angle where you can see the bottom and the underneath muffler hiding beneath the fairing.

Well, the exhaust on the R6 certainly looks better than having that huge can hung on the side.

Ironically, I hated the looks of the underslung exhaust on the XB's for a long time. Now that I have one, everything else looks silly.

There are a couple of readers' letters published in the new Cycle World, too.

That R6 muffler looks fairly good, but only from that one side. From the other side of the bike it looks like an old car can just hanging under there...

New issue of Cycle World has an interesting letter to the editor regarding a visit to a local H-D/Buell dealership that was none too flattering.

Theres a saying in the computer industry: "Nothing exists until Microsoft invents it," which pretty much describes the same phenomina.
