This hose hangs alongside the swing arm. I noticed some oil dripping from it. What's this crap?

mine did too, it was the hose going to the oil pump and it was bad from the factory (supposedly), take it to your dealer for warranty work.

Warranty. What warranty? I bought the bike used. Just let me know how to fix it, I can wrench. : )

I traced the hose and from what I can see it goes up under the seat. Prolly to the head or some stuff. I dont know till I take the seat and air box out. Any ideas why there's oil comming from this place?

On mine, the oil leak was coming right out from, crap, I went out and looked at my bike and the '06's are different at the swingarm area. On the 'bolt, it was coming out of the swingarm and up into the oil pump and that was where the oil pump and leak were. There was quite a bit of junk in the way, but the fitting couldn't be tightened because the housing was cracked on the pump and required a new oil pump.

I doubt this has to do with the oil pump. I'm pretty sure it goes up to the head. My oil pump is new, replaced by me. Everything around that area is dry. I'm tearing it down tomorrow to find out where its coming from. Argh, I can't stand oil leaks.

Right side or left...Dude what side is on? Is the hose that 99buell point out in pix???If is there it may have been overfilled. If you bought used it could still be under warranty. The guy sold you bike would have transfer warranty postcard in his owner book to mail in so remain balance of warranty would transfer over.

It's on the right side dude but its coming from the left. The previous owner must have taken it and moved it to the right side and zip tied it to some other hose, how was I supposed to know.

Anyways, I don't care for warranty work if it's something simple that I can handle. I don't trust anyone with my toys. BTW do you think an 03 would still have warranty? I didn't get it from a guy I got it from a non buell dealer someone traded it in., probably for a gsxr.

What is overfilled? I'm not understanding.

If the oil or the trans is over filled on buells it sips out.I think that the oil maybe to high.I know on tubers the trans has same type of tube.On the slimy crude run this year. I had buell tuber that had over filled his trans. Me and My buell was wear it.I would check your oil level see if it high and buy a shop book.I cannot tell were that tube is come from do to my bike is buriel for winter.I know if you overfill your oil you will get some oil coming out that tube.

Isham, if it's the line 99buellx1 showed in his pic, then as he says it's the fuel tank vent line. If the fuel tank is overfilled, excess fuel will drip out of this line--and sometimes that can look like oil.
